Slipstream SP Premium is the better of the 2 accelerators, as it has the standard accelerator, which will load the web page as fast as possible, normally instantly!, then a second accelerator boosts the images to a visible state separately, as fast as possible.  Average speeds are 8-15 times faster page loads than regular dialup.

HOW DOES SLIPSTREAM WORK?

SlipStream uses patented acceleration, compression and network optimization to enhance the online experience for dial and broadband subscribers, while significantly reducing bandwidth requirements. SlipStream uses adaptive data compression, combined with caching and network optimization, to streamline text, graphics, Flash and Web-based emails, including attachments. Simply Put, when browsing the internet, SlipStream can speed your internet productivity up to 19 times faster the regular dialup!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Slipstream SP is for standard web page acceleration.  It does not function on secure pages, or downloads.

Specifically, Slipstream SP speeds up the delivery of Web pages four ways:

• Compression. Slipstream SP delivers text and graphics more efficiently, using a proprietary compression technology that significantly reduces the size of Web pages and page elements sent to your browser.

• Caching. Slipstream SP improves upon your browser's caching ability. Slipstream SP intelligently retains and reuses Web pages and page elements that have previously been sent to your PC. That's why the longer Slipstream SP is in use on your PC, the faster your Web pages will load.

• Persistent Connections. Slipstream SP uses proprietary techniques to carefully manage and optimize the communication between your modem and our network of servers through a persistent connection. This eliminates the time wasted re-establishing and closing TCP/IP connections.

• Optional Content Filtering. Slipstream SP lets you block unsolicited content, such as pop-up ads and in page ads, which contributes to long wait times.

• Will SlipStream SP speed up everything you do on the Web?

  SlipStream SP significantly speeds up Web page access. To achieve this speed up, proprietary lossless compression is applied to text, html, xml, javascript and style sheets. Proprietary image compression is applied to GIF images, JPEG images, PNG images (with SlipStream SP version 5.0 and later) and Flash content.

  SlipStream also accelerates email traffic (POP3, IMAP and SMTP) and FTP using lossless compression.

  SlipStream does NOT speed up file downloads (except over FTP) and streaming audio/video. The HTTPS (secure Web sites) solution is only available with SlipStream Acceleration Engine for Enterprises.
